Who the F is Isaac Ruth?

Good question, if only there were some sort of helpful promo video…

Be More Specific.

Isaac Ruth is an award-winning writer and director working in film, TV, and digital media. Having been an editor, director of photography, composer, colorist, sound designer, and producer in numerous projects, he specializes in having a keen eye toward all facets of filmmaking.

Most recently, he worked with Apple to develop their first shot-on-iPhone horror short film, THOSE THAT FOLLOW. After being scouted by Apple for his specialty in short-form horror, Isaac spent 6 weeks pitching original stories while also helping craft internal ideas with Media Arts Lab. After director Parkpoom Wongpoom (SHUTTER) was attached, Isaac spent another 6+ months developing the story, writing the English version of the script for client approval and subtitle translation, as well as pitching the story, characters, and dialogue to Apple for greenlight approval. The short film went on to win multiple awards and garner over 11 million views, becoming one of Apple's most successful projects.

In 2018, Isaac's feature script SEARCHERS was optioned for development after a successful run on the Blacklist as well as several festivals, with Netflix's involvement soon to follow. It was developed into a mini-series that was put on hold during the beginning of the 2020 pandemic. He has since began development through his own company, Ruthless Stories, and created a proof-of-concept short film for the project which has earned wide critical acclaim and has since been purchased by ALTER.

During the pandemic, Isaac spent his time writing and producing short films such as AFTER HOURS and THE FEEDING, winning multiple awards, placing in dozens of festivals, and garnering hundreds of thousands of views on social media.

In mid-2020, he began work with We Are Royale and Square-Enix to develop a Starter Guide Series for Final Fantasy XIV Online. This process required the creation of original characters, a firm understanding of the gameplay and lessons required for new players, as well as an ability to direct voice actors and oversee gameplay capture sessions. The 7-part Starter Guide Series was released in mid-2022 to rave reviews by new and returning players, with numerous requests for more content from the characters he helped create.
