me in the morning: “i should write a rom-com next.”
me at night: “WHAT IF PLANET EARTH WAS DYING OF DEPRESSION?”
One of my greatest passions is screenwriting. Though I'm comfortable in most genres, I tend to gravitate to pulpy thrillers and horror features (I blame my brother for convincing me that the shark from Jaws lived in my bedroom carpet, no matter how hard he denies that).
Log line: A journalist unearths a disturbing secret while investigating a child's disappearance in the California desert.
Blacklist Comments: "SEARCHERS' mythology showcases the author's wonderfully dark imagination, and the script's exceptional sense of place and atmosphere evoke a sustained, unsettling dread. It is difficult to overstate the shocking, brutal power of these pages' finale, and the writer's deft combination of real human cruelty with the supernatural is impressive in its avoidance of hollow spectacle."
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Log line: In an effort to salvage his career, a famous photographer has to lie low in his home town, but a past he tried to forget hasn't forgotten him.
Blacklist Comments: "The thematic focus on guilt and the return of the past is both loaded and supremely disturbing, and Christopher's photographic profession allows for a smart, metatextual rumination on the ethics of viewership as well.”
“The script is expertly plotted and has a razor sharp pacing that builds towards a thrilling, climactic, and cathartic finale.”
Log line: An adaptation of the fantasy video/computer game franchise DIABLO anchored by female leads who lead the struggle between good and evil. The first in a trilogy.
Blacklist Comments: "The strength of the narrative is its rich detail and vivid visuals, which render the world of Tristam with an authenticity that will more than satisfy moviegoers who have played the game. While the tone is gruesome and brutally violent, it captivates and engages the audience on a visceral level and offers potential directors and visual effects artists a bounty of exciting material and imagery to work with."
